DEEP TISSUE

Pressure is more intense than in relaxation massage, and is focused to release tension and knots. It can be done without hurting you.
BASALT
Salt Stones
Basalt stones are heated to specific temperature and used with oil to massage the body. The heat of the stones warm and relax the muscles, and allows for deeper massage while creating a relaxed state for the client. The warmth improves circulation and calms the nervous system.
HYDROTHERAPY
Is a term for any therapy that involves the use of water to manage chronic pain or relieve stress. Hot/Cold compress, body wraps, foot baths, and whirlpools are among some of the most effective. Herbal mineral baths provide deep relaxation and assist the body with detoxification and mineral adsorption.
LOMI LOMI (Hawaiian)
Ancient Hawaiian massage which uses rhythmic dance-like movements of hands and forearms to break-up fibrous deposits, improve circulation of lymph/blood, and eliminate toxins. It relaxes the entire being, and overwhelms the mind with sensation, helping the client to let go of old emotions stored in cells of the body.
PRENATAL
Therapeutic massage aimed at comforting the pregnant woman and her changing body. It is performed in side-lying position with pillows or bolsters to support and comfort the client. Prenatal massage helps improve circulation, reduces stress and fatigue, decreases common body aches, and increases lymphatic drainage. This is an ideal way to keep “mommy-to-be” refreshed and ready for impending delivery.
REFLEXOLOGY
The application of pressure on these points are a benefit by relieving tension, improving circulation, and promoting the natural function of the related area of the body.
SWEDISH (relaxation)
Swedish is a lighter form of massage used with the intent of relaxation. It offers gentle technique that helps to reduce stress, diminish pain, relax muscles, increase circulation, and aids in waste removal. It is the most commonly practiced modality.
THAI – Traditional
Thai uses a systematic approach, compression to points, gentle rhythmic rocking, and passive stretching. It is performed with the client fully clothed in loose fitting attire on a comfortable floor mat. Benefits may include relief from migraines, sprains, improved flexibility, improved sleep, and lessened anxiety.
THAI – Table
Similar to traditional Thai but received by the client on a standard massage table. Client chooses a preference of fully clothed, or unclothed with draping which allows the therapist integrate aspects of Swedish/Relaxation massage using cream. Great for increasing joint range of motion.
THAI HERBAL
Thai herbal massage blends the stretching and compressions of Thai massage with heated herbal compresses. The heated poultice provides a comforting warmth while opening pores and allowing the body to absorb the healing properties of the numerous herbs.
PARAFFIN TREATMENTS
Paraffin treatments use warm oil-based wax to provide pain relief to sore joints and muscles of the hands and feet, while improving their circulation. It provides skin softening benefits and helps open pores. It is a form of deep heating therapy that also assist with greater range of motion.
HOT BAMBOO
Hot Bamboo incorporates different lengths and diameter of warmed smooth bamboo and is integrated into a flowing massage. Using the bamboo stick as an extension of the hands, the therapist can easily palpate, find tension, dissolve knots and trigger points. They are used to knead and stretch fascia.
IASTM
Instrument Assistant Soft Tissue Mobilization
A method used to remove stagnant blood and lymph from the subcutaneous fascia. It uses a rounded smooth-edges tool to repeatedly stroke over an area of the body, allowing the body to metabolize cellular waste and promote fresh blood and cells in that area.
CUPPING
Cupping is a therapy used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to remove stagnation and stimulate the flow of qi (chi). Qi is the free flow of vital energy circulating through the body and the world around us, if the qi is disrupted or disturbed, it can create stagnation (blockages) or imbalances in the body. Cupping also helps to treat pain, deep scar tissue in the muscles and connective tissue, muscle knots, and swelling.
Lymphatic Massage
(Manual Lymphatic Drainage/MLD)
A gentle non-invasive technique designed to increase the movement of lymph and interstitial fluid thereby reducing edema in the extremities and jump-starting the immunity system. MLD benefits those with lymphedema, post-surgical swelling, and auto-immune conditions.
